Since 1909, the Berlin-based company Collonil has offered high quality shoe care products. Today, the company has international reach: 70% of the products are exported to 93 countries! Collonil is also sustainable and responsible: up to 90 percent natural ingredients such as bamboo extract, olive oil, aloe vera or natural honey are used for the “Organic” range. In total, the company has more then 4000 different products to offer.
Collonil employs 150 staff members and achieves an annual turnover of 40 million euros.
Collonil is supporting the Semadeni Plastics Group in the introduction of a new technology: the 1-step process for manufacturing PET containers. To this end, an appropriate machine has been procured at the factory of the Semadeni subsidiary Logo Plastic in Königstein/Saxony and put into operation, which is now producing the PET bottles for the Collonil Gold Series. The benefit: the process is more energy efficient and allows for much more flexibility in the shape and design of the neck. More energy efficient because, in comparison with the conventional 2-step process, the preforms do not have to be heated from the cold state, but rather are inflated while still in the thermoelastic warm state immediately after injection moulding. What’s more, they have a much better surface quality and a higher quality appearance. Fitting for high quality filling products as with Collonil.
The 1-step machine is one of 10 blow-moulding machines which are operated in the Königstein plant. The plant is ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certified, and also has approval for the production of UN-approved containers for hazardous materials transportation.
